CEASAR LIVE SOUL
Who is Ceaser Live Soul?
- Ceaser Live Soul is an energetic crowd pleaser with his rhymes and his passionate stage presence.
How would you describe your sound?
-My sound is a rich blend of hip hop and soul music. I write honestly about my surroundings. I write about dreams and aspirations. I make that perfect 'car riding' music, tracks you can feel and not notice when you hit 90mph! I make music with a soul and a heartbeat. I gotta thank my producer Kickin J for helping bring those ideas and sounds to life.
What made you decide to pursue a career in music?
-Well it wasn't easy at first. I fought the decision for a long time until I finally asked a friend of mine for her advice. She told me to write one song and dedicate it to her and if I liked it then continue to do music and if I didnt like it then, well keep workin my 9 to 5, lol. The song is called "Tender Touch" its on my myspace page today if you havent checked it out yet. Thanks Melanie!
What school did you attend?
-I attended Northeast High School for two years and then moved to Miami where I went to Miami Central High School. After graduating Miami Central (Go Rockets!) I returned to Philadelphia where I studied Architecture at the Community College of Philadelphia. It was during my years in Miami that I started to explore my lyrical talents.
What is your main focus?
-My main focus is making quality music and delivering the best live show I can every time.
How long have you been performing live/making music?
-I've been making music professionally for the past three years.
Do you have a role model or someone you look up to?
-I have so many role models, but the one I would say has the most influence on me is Jesus Christ. I say that because no matter what the circumstance he is the only one that always has the answers Im looking for. I try to model myself after him by taking the time to consider my actions before I do something or consider my words before I speak.
If you could choose any profession what would it be & why?
-I would choose to be an MC. I feel that MCs have the power to affect positive change with our voices and our actions. I would probably feel bored at any other profession including being an architect, because there is a special interaction that goes on between the artist and the fans that you dont get with any other profession.
If for whatever reason your music career doesnt workout, do you have a Plan B?
-Haha, I have enough faith to say that it will workout no doubt, but if I had a Plan B, which I do, I'd be an entreprenuer in the solar and wind energy fields. It sounds like a far stretch but I am really fascinated by those technologies and I feel I could make some important contributions to society by helping with our energy needs.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
-I see myself on I-95 headed to my sold out show at a 50,000 seat venue. Im preparing my third studio album and Im a spokesperson for the Board of Education helping to keep kids in school with after school programs and a scholarship fund setup for young black males who want to start their own business.
Do you have any accomplishments you would like to shine a light on?
-Let's see, I have a band that plays with me on most show dates. The band is called 'Bring The Heat' They bring a Punk/Rock flavor to my songs which really pumps up the crowd and allows me artistic freedom to play with the crowd more than I can with a CD track.
Wow that sounds pretty cool. Do you have any shows coming up soon?
-Yea actually. Wednesday May 12th at Club O.N.E. in Philly (19th & Sansom St) Music by DJ Scarfo Live; Hosted by Larry Larr. I'm previewing tracks from my upcoming Debut EP: Baggy Jeans and Baseball Bats. You can be one of the first to hear my edgy new sound! I'm going for an international sound on this project.
That's an interesting title, what is that about?
-Well I'm really just sounding off on the whole 'skinny jeans' movement that is apparantly taking hold in the urban community. I'm from Brooklyn, NY raised up in the 90s. In that era we weren't and still aren't afraid to grab our balls and say what we feel, ye dig? I don't like it and so I'm speaking against it. The New Boyz dropped an album called 'Skinny Jeanz and a Mic', so I named my album 'Baggy Jeans and Baseball Bats' Dont get it twisted though the whole album is not me just spazzing on cats wearin skinny jeans. I've created a well rounded album that introduces myself to the world and hopefully people can appreciate the honesty and passion that went into the project. As my homies always say, let the music speak for itself. BJ&BB drops Sept 14th 2010.
So we've heard about you as an MC, what do you enjoy doing when you are not in the public's eye?
-Im a cool laid-back type of guy but I like to party every now and then. I really like to shoot pool and make clever conversation with the opposite sex. I also love going to the beach to just get away and feel the sand in my toes (smiles).
This one is for the ladies, are you single?
-Its complicated, lol Sike nah I'm single. I'm really focusing on my music career right now so the women in my life are actresses, singers, publicists, and so on. I'll see where I'm at in a year or two. In the meantime, lets just be grown and sexy.
Nice way to put it, do you have any last words before we go?
-I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and my music thus far. Without you there would be no me and I appreciate each and everyone one of you everday. I'd also like to thank you B West for showing me love on your blog. Follow me on twitter @ceaserlivesoul or at www.reverbnation.com/ ceaserlivesoul for all my show dates and info, peace.
