1. WHO IS JOURNEY? 
Journey is an outgoing, spontaneous, and family oriented Spoken Word Artist/Song Writer. 

2. WHAT SCHOOLS DID YOU ATTEND? (GRADE/HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE)
Logan Elementary, J. Hampton Moore Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, Northeast High, and Lake Weir High (Florida).


3. DO YOU HAVE A ROLE MODEL OR SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO? IF SO WHO & WHY?
My role model is my father, he is such a God fearing, humble, hardworking (retired now) person. I look up to him because I strive to be the best person I can be, like my father. On the other hand, in the industry, my role mode is the wonderful, awe-inspiring Maya Angelou. I grew up listening to her books on tape, and reading her beautifully written poetry. She certainly inspired me to be a writer.

4. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANY PROFESSION WHAT WOULD IT BE? WHY? 
I would be a Elementary School teacher. Elementary Education is what I am currently taking up at Chestnut Hill College. I love children and helping them to reach their goals in life. Unfortunately there aren’t enough caring teachers out here. 

5. IF FOR WHATEVER REASON YOUR PROFESSION OF CHOICE DOESN'T WORKOUT DO YOU HAVE A PLAN B?
I would be an Author. Currently I am working on my first book of poetry. Next, I will work on a fiction book that everyone can relate to in some aspect. Writing is my first love and no matter what profession I end up in I will always be a Writer.


6. WHAT IS YOUR MAIN FOCUS?
Right now my main focus is to work, finish school, and enjoy collaborating with other wonderful upcoming artist.


7. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WRITING?
I have been writing since I was eleven years of age. My parents separated at that time (eventually divorced), and writing was the only way I knew to express my feelings so that people could feel what I felt. I vividly remember writing poetry in my composition book on the train everyday after school.


8. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WANNA START DOING MUSIC?
Well, since I love music and love writing I thought I would try to start writing songs. I realized I love it! As soon as I hear a beat the words come to my head as if the beat is speaking to me. It’s also a lot of fun and an extra stress reliever.

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TALENTS?
No, I had piano lessons as a child, but that didn’t quite work out lol.


10. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?
Hmmm…married, finished, school, traveling, teaching children, signing books for my lovely readers, and hearing my songs on the radio (hey, you never know, Beyonce may one day sing something that I wrote).


11. HAVE YOU ACCOMPLISHED ANY OF YOUR GOALS YET?
Yes, I completed my courses at Community College of Philadelphia, completed a few collaborations, and started working on my poetry book.


12. DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHINE LIGHT ON?
Yes, staying focused! Trust me staying focused is a big accomplishment for anyone.

Happily single. I barely have time for myself.

My role models are every African American before me who paved the way for blacks to have equality because without their blood, sweat and tears no one knows where any of us would be as a culture

If I could have any profession it would be a lawyer because they make alot of money and I want to be a successful, black woman. Maybe one day I will be an entertainment laywer

Yes I have accomplished some of my goals. I am an intern for the Commonwealth of Pa. and I have networked there very well. I also modeled for DJ Richocet under, "Xquisite Models" and promoted parties in the cities of Philadelphia and New Jersey

1. WHO IS KNOWLEDGE? 

Knowledge is what rap is meant to be, what it
should be. Knowledge epitomizes everything that most niggas can’t be
and want to be in they rhymes. But to be a dick….Knowledge as defined
by dictionary.com is the body of truths or facts accumulated in the
course of time or acquaintance or familiarity gained by sight,
experience, or report.

2. WHAT SCHOOLS DID YOU ATTEND? (GRADE/HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE) 

I mean grade school, c’mon West that ain’t even important, but High School I
went and graduated from William Penn. College I attended and graduated
from Mansfield University, and currently I am attending U of Phoenix
trying grab that good ol’ masters.

3. DO YOU HAVE A ROLE MODEL OR SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO? IF SO WHO AND WHY? 

Honestly I used to have a lot of people I looked up to especially
musically, but since I have gotten deeper into my craft it has turned
more into respect then looking up to. So some of the people I respect
are Nas, Jay-Z, Method Man, Lupe Fiasco, Jadakiss, Skillz, the whole
Slaughterhouse and the list could go on and on but I’ll just make it
plain and simple talented individuals that spit shit worth listening
too. That was mainstream, now underground thus far it would be
everybody that I have worked with and continue to work with, if I
respect you trust me you will know.

4. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANY PROFESSION WHAT WOULD IT BE? AND WHY? 

I would have to say counseling. Despite what people may think about a nigga I

like to help people and there are a lot of people out there with
issues that they can’t resolve alone. I have always been the type of
nigga that was a good listener and was always able to lead people in
the right direction with my advice. So, it seems only right that I get
paid to do it.

don’t really know something in the Social Sevices field. Once again

out and work with people and I also like to help niggas learn how to
do what it is that needs to done by using the good ol show and prove
method.

My main focus in life is happiness by any
means necessary….I repeat any means necessary. You boi is engaged and
has a child so priorities in my life are based strictly around me and
them at this point.

Rapping sheeessssssh its been a minute, I originally started rapping at the age of seven.
However, I took a break and began playing with it again about four
years ago, but did not get serious about it until maybe 2 years
ago….lemme make sure you caught that two years ago, and I’m already
decades beyond some of these niggas. Nuff said.

8. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WANNA START RAPPING? 

Originally living next door to DJ Ready Roc (might be spelt wrong) who used to
work with Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. I used to always hear him
in the house next door mixing and saw a lot of people come in and out
of his crib. The Youngsta’s etc…. that started it, but as mentioned
above I fell off. Later on my brother, M.A.S. brought me back into the
fold and pushed me, rather encouraged me to pursue my talent show
people that “The Beast Unleashed” (currently out and in circulation,
lol).

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TALENTS? 

Besides making them girls say
“Uhhhh” lmao. I play a little bit of basketball and football. I can
get it down with the pencil and paper on the artists tip,,,yeah niggas
I can draw and I can rap so basically all I’m doing is painting niggas
pictures when I rap, but if need be I can make visuals as well.

10. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS? 

I see myself enjoying life with or without music. The way music goes, well you know
its bullshit. I’m on a level where I’m about unity and unfortunately
I’m in a city where that barely exists. You got some niggas that show
love and basically show respect for the craft but for the most part
its all territory and who you know. Personally, if a nigga is gabbage
I don’t give two flyin bird shits who you know. In a perfect world
though I see myself on a beach blasting my second to third album with
just me, my child and my wife…..btw I would be owning that island.

11. HAVE YOU ACCOMPLISHED ANY OF YOUR GOALS YET? 

Yeah, I can honestly say I have. I had one goal and that was to make sure that almost
everything I wrote and recorded was up to par and beyond most of what
is out on the streets and thus far I have accomplished that. I can
honestly say that if I did a cover beat I did my thing. I am a true
fan of music and I only listen to what I like and what is good, that
includes myself. If I drop some bullshit I ain’t listening to it.

12. DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHINE LIGHT ON?Two successful mixtapes. I don’t mean successful as they sold out the

stores. I mean successful as in they were real good music, quality
music. My first mixtape got love from England….fuckin England. To me
that shows where you are with music, when you can reach people from
over seas you are doing your thing. My second accomplishment which may
seem small to some, is after a performance during my second mixtapes
release party a kid walked up to me (don’t know what the hell he was
doing there but hey) and asked me for a copy of shit. That meant a
lot, especially with the bullshit that these kids are being fed these
days. It felt great to know that I left an impression on the youth.
Thus far however, my greatest achievement is gaining the respect from
some of my peers. I have not gotten to everyone yet but I will
eventually, 2010 is here and I’m not leaving it without leaving some
sort of mark.

13. DO YOU HAVE A SPOUSE? OR ARE YOU SINGLE? 

Yeah, I’m currently engaged. There is a Ms. Knowledge. Funny story. I told my homie Young
Kose from the group 787 that I was engaged and this nigga clowned me
talking bout damn you old now, I gotta start calling you Wisedom.
Bastard. That’s my nigga tho.

14. DO YOU HAVE ANY CURRENT OR FUTURE EVENTS/SHOWS COMING UP? 

At this moment no, I’m reloading getting shit together so the next show I do
is better then anything else I’ve done. Philly We Back was great and I
appreciated the opportunity….Shout out to Trizzy. However, just know I
have close to 50+ tracks in the cut both originals and cover shit……its
about to hurt for lame ass niggas,,,I’m about to make it really hard
for em. Even some mainstream cause I’m about to retire a lot of
peoples instrumentals.

15. DO YOU LOOK AT RAPPING AS BEING A HOBBY OR CAREER? 

A little bit of both but mainly a hobby. Only because a hobby is something you
do with passion and a career is something you do because you have too.
Understand this I don’t have to do music I just am passionate about
it. This is something I love and something that I do for the love. The
money and respect are great but I do it because it’s what I want to
do, if money never comes knocking fine as long as I can keep the door
open for my personal love of it then I’m good.

                  "Exclusive Da Troopa" aka ''DA TROOPA''.....an original native of Philadelphia has come to change the musical industry as we know it! This very talented young lady has breaken the barriers of racism,political retrobands and sexual diversities with her multi-cultural sound. "DA TROOPA" has no story,she is the story! The story of a survivor, co-signer of the abrubt society we've all come to know,the joy which has come out of it all and the story of a broken heart! Growing up under musical inspiration and father"Lance" the love for music came all too naturally, singing at 4,writing at 7 and flowing since 12 Exclusive Da Troopa is definently a force to be reackoned with!

               I've attended almost ever school in the city due to my un-stabled childhood.....17 different foster homes and about 9 different  group homes! ''AW man'', the list is so long.....I'll name a few though. Ben Franklin(N.P),Gratz(H.P),Germantown High(G-TOWN),Kensington high, Winslow(New Jersey).........ect . that's just some of the high school though! Middle schools....Beeber(West Philly),Turner(S.W),Pierce(S.P)  

4. DO YOU HAVE A ROLE MODEL OR SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO? IF SO WHO & WHY?

             My biggest role model I would deff have to say was my step-mother Vanessa(R.I.P) she passed about 2 1/2 yrs. ago from pancreatic cancer ........my eyes still water when I mention her occasionally, she was my rock! She taught my to value the fundamentals of life ,rather good or bad. I was a street chick the only female out of like 20 dudes....... she taught me how to be a lady. I was always like the little sis type nah mean' ! My other biggest role model /influence is my ten yr. old son because for him  to be so small on the out side but so ''big hearted'' on the inside he just keeps me motivated! He makes me want to be everything I'm supposed to be and then some

5. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANY PROFESSION WHAT WOULD IT BE? & WHY?

            Being an artist...........I don't think i'd rather have it any other way, I am hip-hop! I can't go 10 sec without thinking of a hook (lol) my conversations be raps....... I was bussing it up with my girlfriend the other day and after my last statement she just was like ''ill'', I was stuck with the dumb look until she repeated what I said....... then I was like.....''ill'' !

The art of expression has always been my counselor in a sense rather it would be through a poem, drawing or a step(ballet,tap dancing, drill team)

6. IF FOR WHATEVER REASON YOUR PROFESSION OF CHOICE DOESN'T WORKOUT DO YOU HAVE A PLAN B?

            WOW..........lol! That was a great question, your always suppose to have a plan B ! I love helping others, I love giving love because I know how it feels to wonder if your being loved and only love can move a mountain.......so I could see myself as a mentor for children with behavioral issues, a mentor to the less fortunate,I also fell in love with the thought of being an ultrasound technician!  

7. WHAT IS YOUR MAIN FOCUS?

            Keeping my eye on the prize which reflects on the catagory of my friends,family,fans,supporters, my self ..... I think not letting everyone as well as myself down is my biggest focus, to be the best to my ability in;what ever that may be!

8. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN (DOING WHAT YOU DO)?

            To be honest all my child hood hobbies play a part in who I am today ! For example , I grew up in the church and I was infatuated with the choir. I joined at the early age of 4 yrs. old,My father put me in dance class at the age of 5 and school was always a must! According to my father education was the key, I was always a writer but I was able to better express myself at the age of 7 yrs. old . I hit middle school in the 90's which was clearly the era of Hip-hop...... Salt-n-Pepper,Queen Latifah , Bahamadia,Mc lyte,Roxanne Shante and so many others at their peak  played a major role as to where I stand today! At lunch I would be the only girl at the table in the rap seiffer keeping up with the fellas, (it wasn't as hard as I thought) in other words the guys weren't the only one's capable of bringing the heat.......lol!  Any way that kinda encouraged me to keep working on my craft and that same self -discipline followed me through High School where I really broke out of my shell,dominating the mic and embarrassing anyone who wanted it! 

9. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WANNA START (DOING WHAT YOU DO)?

            My father is an industry mogul, you minds well say I was born into the game just didn't know it. He's been radio personnel/DJ for almost ever station in the city and has worked with every one Jazzy Jeff, Will Smith, Boys to Men, Patti Label, Larry Larr, New Edition, Jill Scott, The Roots, Tyrese, Busta Ryhmes, Rob (formally of est)....the list goes on! Needless to say I was always drawn to the beat, always had an ear not to mention the moves for great music! 

10. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TALENTS?

            Indeed I do......I am fortunate enough to say I've been blessed with tons of them. Modeling, Acting, Singing, Dancing, Drawing, Writing, rapping, I make crazy beats , I can't tell yawl all my secrets ....lol!

11. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

            Only god knows  where ever it may be, I know that it's god's will

            Hmmmmmmmm, A little of both, you can't persue the music game part time and expect great outcomes not unless your a Stevie Wonder or a Ray Charles, The Supremes or somebody.......(lol)

April 9th I'll be at Club SKYY with hedonis (Adams Ave. & Tabor rd), April 10th I'll be at Tacony Billiard that's just a couple events for this month! By the way if you missed me and Freeway that thing was bananas.....shot out to all my up and coming man, keep grinding!

            Of course I do ,I'm human not a machine as long as I keep site of my agenda and I know that there's work to be done I keep play time to a minimum but  you only get one life so I try to balance the weight of both...............

            I like to chill,I've ran the streets so much I'm bored with it now so when i'm not out performing or shooting videos.. ect  I kick back with the family! I love shopping, eating, watching a good movie( comedy or action I prefer ) Of course I do the video games, skating, bowling....to be honest i'm good with just kicking it out front on my step!

I like being an enigma  ... lol ... Im co-owner with my partner Celli in Exponent Entertainment.  Exponent Entertainment is a management and consulting company for artists. We work with DJ NoPhrillz, Benja Styles, E. Ness, Big Lou, TrapStreet, J. Griff, Rich Quick, Doesya, Nico the Beast, OC Diesel and more.  We also have DJ NoPhrillz, Benja Styles, and Big OC Diesel's radio show called Official Street Radio.

2. WHERE ARE YOU FROM? WHAT DO YOU REP?

Im originally from the Poconos, but I've lived in Philly for years.

I went to Hazleton Area High School and graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Communications and International Studies. I also attended the Lancaster Conservatory of Music.

Definitely my Mom, She probably doesn't want me to tell her whole story, but trust me she is amazing. The strongest woman I’ve ever known.

5. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANY PROFESSION WHAT WOULD IT BE? & WHY?

Exactly what I'm doing or I wouldn't be doing it!

6. WHAT IS YOUR MAIN FOCUS?

My main focus is giving artists a fair platform to present themselves to the fans. But the artists need to be hard working and motivated and talented to make that happen!

7. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED IN MUSIC?

I’ve been involved with music since I was a child but Exponent has officially been around for 3 years.

8. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WANNA START INVOLVING YOURSELF IN MUSIC?

The need for artists to have some guidance in this industry.

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TALENTS?

Talents? I can play the piano, sing, cook, ... a bunch of things.

Exactly what Im doing only with a big house and a dog. And I want to see the artists I work with now see great success and happiness.

Starting my own business was always a goal. My partner Ccelli and I started Exponent together and that was a huge accomplishment.

Who needs wishes when you work hard and believe in what you're doing? My wish is that everyone gets what they deserve in life.
