ADDVANCE

1. WHO IS ADDVANCE?

I'm all about pushing my vocabulary to the limit. A lot of ppl can say

a lot of words with no substance, but I pride myself in packing an

experience into every verse. My stage name is a combination of my

middle name (Vance) and my mission to progress lyrically every day.

The need to advance.

2. SCHOOLS YOU ATTENDED?

Went to boarding school in central PA for middle school, returned to

Philly and went to Furness for high school. CCP for 2 years, Temple

for 3.

3. WHO ARE YOUR ROLE MODELS?

I've looked up to three people for completely differt reasons. My

mother (perseverance, determination), my sister (networking,

toughness) & stepfather (money management, business sense).

4. WHAT WOULD BE YOUR PROFESSION & WHY?

Since I was 11, the first and foremost thought in my head was music.

There have been different interests I've had over the years as far as

a backup plan goes, but music has always unquestionably been number

one.

5. IF PLAN A DOESN'T WORK OUT DO YOU HAVE A PLAN B?

Well, that would be the job I have now at the Treasury. If music

doesn't work out, I'll just stay where I am. I'm one of the few ppl

who have been blessed to have gainful employment that allows me to

chase my dreams.

6. WHAT IS YOUR MAIN FOCUS?

My main focus is my family. It's been a hard road because we have

struggled as a unit, but that's also another driving force behind my

music push. My family will live comfortably if I am able to succeed.

7. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RAPPIN'

Well technically I've been rapping since I was 11. I didn't have a

finished project until the age of 19, so I consider that the start of

my actual venture into music. So to answer the question, five years.

8. DO YOU HAVE ANY INSPIRATIONS?

I'd have to say Nas. My favorite song for many years was "If I Ruled

The World". It was the second song I knew front to back (Biggie's "One

More Chance" being the first). He crafted his lyrics and delivered

them in such an inspiring fashion. I knew then that I wanted to have

that same power.

9. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TALENTS?

I can freestyle. Very well. I just started doing it last year, and

I've pushed to sharpen my skills since then. Other than that, I can

ball a little bit. Basketball & football specifically. Also really

good at video games. Sports & fighting games only. First person

shooters as well.

10. WHAT DO YOU SEE YASELF DOING IN 10 YEARS?

Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to definitively answer this

question a few years ago. But hopefully it's something in music.

Whether it's me at the forefront or grinding behind the scenes. As

long as I can make a good living doing what I love, then it will be

music.

11. DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCOMPLISHED GOALS?

I have. I wanted a lot of positive feedback on my single and I've

gotten more than that. Having a song on the radio is also another goal

I've achieved. However, I really would like to hear my song, for

myself, on the radio. A couple of my friends have heard it in

different areas in the country, but I would very much like to hear it

with my own ears.

12. DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

That's pretty much the same question as 11 lol

13. DO YOU HAVE A SINGLE?

My girlfriend Katrina has been very supportive with my music. She

inspires me to be better every day. She almost demands it. She's hard

on me and very direct, because she knows that's how the business will

be, and I sincerely appreciate that.

14. DO YOU HAVE ANY UPCOMING SHOWS?

Not yet, although I've been to a couple auditions. I hope to start

scheduling shows VERY soon, because I love to perform. I feel as if

it's my biggest strength.

15. DO YOU LOOK AT MUSIC AS A HOBBY OR CAREER?

It was a hobby when I was a kid, but not now. I used to want to prove

to my friends that I could do it. Now they know what it is. I've

shifted my focus to show the world what I can do. I want a long career

in music.

6'2.

18. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLOTHING?

I'm a laid-back guy when it comes to what I wear. Tees and relaxed

jeans mostly. I don't do the whole skinny jeans thing. All black

everything type dude 99% of the time. Hoodies and all that.

19. HAVE YOU APPEARED ON ANY FLYERS OR MAGAZINES ETC?

I appeared in a flyer for a performance I had a number of weeks ago.

I've been featured on a number of blogs, including but not limited to

Uristocrat.com & AnmlHse.com. I'm also showcased at

HotNewHipHop.com/AddVance.

20. IF YOU COUD HAVE 3 WISHES WHAT WOULD THEY BE?

1. To have a long & successful career in music that allows me to take

care of my family. 2. To be able to put my team on. I want everyone to

share in the success. 3. To be healthy & happy with how everything

turns out.

21. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?

Hmm. I'd have to say fried whiting. Salmon is great too if prepared

correctly. Mac & cheese is the top side dish.

22. DO YOU HAVE ANY CURRENT EVENTS YOU WANNA PROMOTE?

Indeed there are. Sittin On The Clouds, my FIRST street single, has

23. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOTWEAR?

Sneakers. Nike's & Adidas. I'm not too flashy with my sneakers. Just

has to match lol

24. DO YOU GET DISTRACTED FROM YOUR MUSIC?

Actually, I'd say music is my distraction from everything. I haven't

had the easiest time with things so far and music has been, and will

continue to be my most consistent outlet. Time-wise, my job is a

definite distraction from my music, but it's needed to fund my music.

Necessary evil.

25. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN THE PUBLIC'S EYE?

In my down time I like to chill with my team. I also take a lot of

time with my nephews. I want to show them that success isn't limited

to what's around you. You can transcend your circumstances, and that's

precisely what I intend to do.

26. WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

I'm from South Philly. 5th street to be specific. It's where I learned

everything. When I was comin up, your head was on a swivel or it was

on the pavement. I take that same intensity into my music-related

projects.

27. WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME?

My real name is William. Most call me Will or Vance tho.
